Oatmeal Upgrade
Upgrading my oatmeal has made me actually look forward to breakfast before getting out of bed in the morning. It is just the perfect thing and chalk full of nutrients and fuel to keep my energy up throughout out the day. I’ve never bought into the “breakfast is the most important meal of the day” thing, but, man, this stuff has inspired me to question.. maybe they were right?
ANYWAY.. here’s what I do:
(This may not sound appealing but don't know it till you try it!)
I start with these oats and I’ll add my water and sometimes I’ll stir in all the ingredients (except the peanut butter) before microwaving, but you can also put them all in after they’re warm
sprinkle of garlic powder
sprinkle of onion powder
teaspoon of peanut butter (non-chunky peanut butter also works)
pinch of salt
light sprinkle of cinnamon sugar
I stir that all up with the oats and water before microwaving and put whatever fresh fruits I have on hand to top it off, and let me tell you - I've never looked forward to breakfast while laying in bed until I started doing this. Talk about nutritious and delicious!
